A Nepenthes withering as it nears the end of its life. Despite its aged and frail appearance, it hasn't weakened—it is quite the opposite, in fact. A Withering Nepenthes will strike at its prey with newfound abilities never accessible in its prime; this is why the withering phase is thought to be the Nepenthes' most dangerous.
